I hate the driving in many games like Saint's Row 3, but even with arcadey physics I've always found GTA to be fluent and fun. Regardless, driving in every GTA game has always been fun. I have no idea how Midnight Club's driving was (I need to play that actually), but I think overall it will be very close to IV's handling, just tighter, if that makes sense. I might be a minority here but I didn't think IV's physics were perfect, I think it was somebody else here who said it: at higher speeds the handling felt perfect, but going slower is where they got the boat-like feel. It should very much feel the same as IV overall, but just be tightened up a little so it's perfected. I'm pretty sure that's what they meant by the cars handled like "boats" in the original GI article. Which to me sounds perfect, because that's exactly what I felt IV's handling needed. I think it was IGN's preview that said from what they could tell the driving physics were very similar to IV, just tightened up a bit (though unless you play the game it's really hard to tell I bet). Sure, the wheels acted like they were made of ice, but overall, GTAIV's driving was better than any racing game I've ever played. I loved the way that every car felt like they had different weights and driving characteristics, just like in real life. Maybe new driving physics would completely change the game for the better! But for now, I would just like to see a more polished version of what we had in IV (tighter suspension, more traction, etc). I know everyone has their own opinions, and hey, I could be wrong.

You would expect a racing game (coming from Rockstar) would have fantastic physics when it comes to the cars' interactions with the road, but MC:LA just looks like something that would appeal to a 10 year old still obsessed with HotWheels. I've watched a few MC:LA videos recently and I would be really disappointed if GTA V's driving was even remotely similar. The turning and drifting feel too tight and don't seem to give the cars any character. Personally, whenever I'm playing street racing games like NFS or MC, the cars feel extremely heavy and stuck to the road, yet have insane levels of acceleration. This, along with the rumored Midnight Club: LA-style driving is starting to make me feel like this game is going to be much more arcadey. Several sources are saying that GTA V's driving will feel somewhere in between the physics of IV and SA. If your comment contains spoilers, please use the following code.
